Congratulations, you are new to early years! This course looks at the main aspects that you need to know to work with young children. It will cover aspects of child development, behaviour management, working with parents, observation, assessment, planning, and much more.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand child development from birth to five – milestones and what to look for
  2. To know how children self-regulate and how they learn to behave in a positive way
  3. To understand the importance of working effectively with parents
  4. To know how to observe, asses, and plan for the next steps in children’s learning and development
  5. To know how to use the environment
  6. To know how to be a great role model
  7. To understand the power of play

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.
