More than 100,000 people are thought to be living with HIV in the UK, so it is important that Early Years practitioners know to deal with it. There is a very popular misconception that HIV and Aids are the same thing, and there is a stigma that comes along with this.

This course will examine the facts of both and provide information as to how they differ. It will also give practical advice on how to help a child with HIV or AIDS in your own setting.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand what HIV is
  2. To understand what AIDS is and how HIV can develop into it
  3. To understand where HIV is found
  4. To learn about the prevention of HIV
  5. To understand how to work with babies with HIV

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.

Upon booking this course, we will discuss the learning objectives and outcomes you wish to achieve based on the children in your care. We can provide you with an advanced version for seniors or managers or facilitate a train the trainer course.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before making a booking, please call 0800 774 7874.
