The statistics on teenage pregnancy have changed in recent years. For example, numbers have fallen overall in London between 2014 and 2016. But other areas have had increased rates, such as around the North, the North East, and pockets of the East Coast area. And South London still has higher numbers compared to the rest of London. In an early years setting, it’s very likely that some of the parents you come into contact with will be new teenage mothers.
This course will look at what a teenage mother faces, including the risks and ways for you and the community to support a new mother.
