With mathematics now confirmed as a ‘specific’ area of learning within the revised EYFS framework, this course looks at what this means for practitioners. The EYFS breaks into two areas of mathematical learning. These are ‘Number’ and ‘Space, Shape, and Measure’.
This course will look at the context of mathematics, the EYFS, and Development Matters. It will present development by age and will examine what to observe and what a practitioner can provide and do within the environment to support this development.

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.
