Loris Malaguzzi stated, “The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences.”

Loose parts offer children an infinite range of possibilities for play and learning. The great thing, in these days of budget cuts, is that loose parts are free, or cheap, and easy to access.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand how using loose materials benefits the development of critical thinking, imagination, and creativity
  2. To understand how loose materials can be used across the curriculum, inside and out
  3. To be able to identify and know where to source different types of loose parts
  4. To know how to analyse your environment to find areas that can be improved with the addition of loose parts

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.

Upon booking this course, we will discuss the learning objectives and outcomes you wish to achieve based on the children in your care. We can provide you with an advanced version for seniors or managers or facilitate a train the trainer course.
