Developing children’s fine and gross motor skills supports their learning and development in a variety of ways. For example, to become an effective writer, children must have good core strength and balance, flexible shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers, as well as strength and control. All this and learning letters and sounds too!
During this course, we will look at the development of fine and gross motor skills and how these can be promoted through the setting.

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.
