The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has been ratified by every country in the world, except for the United States and Somalia. Governments can decide whether they will ratify the Convention, which means that the government in question agrees to make sure that all of these rights are available to children.

This course will ensure that all Early Years staff are fully up to date with the current legislation around the protection of children’s rights. It will also aid staff with practical and curricular ideas to embed a culture of rights and responsibilities in all Early Years practice.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand what Human Rights are
  2. To understand what rights children have
  3. To learn how to work out whether a child’s rights are being breached
  4. To learn how to implement the rights that children have into your EY practice

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before accessing the course, please call 0800 774 7874.
