The role of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is crucial for early years settings in supporting early identification and intervention for children with special educational needs and will be a useful contact for you if you have any concerns about your child’s development. The SENCO is responsible for coordinating a setting's recording and documentation process regarding special educational needs.
This course will ensure that all staff are aware of the importance of the SENCO role and how it can support them in providing excellent learning for early years children. It will also ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities in supporting the SENCO and providing support for SEN pupils.
