In the early years of a child’s life, they will experience many behavioural changes and challenges. Some of these will be positive, but a lot of them will be negative.

This course will allow practitioners to understand each stage of behavioural development, the best techniques to encourage positive changes and methods to deal with outbursts (should they arise).

It will also offer suggestions to help practitioners work with parents more closely, in order to work as a team to promote positive behaviour both in a childcare setting and at home.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand how the expected developmental milestones of children from 0 – 3 years can impact on behaviour
  2. To have a range of strategies for managing children’s behaviour in an Early Years setting
  3. To have knowledge and understanding of how to liaise effectively with parents/primary carers, to ensure communication is effective
  4. To know how to work effectively as a team, to support the behavioural development of children

This course ensures your practice is in line with the requirements of the Childcare Act 2006 (the Act), as amended by the Children and Families Act 2014. It will also support your continuous professional development and enable you to keep well informed and up-to-date with current practice.

Should you wish to discuss your training needs based on the children in your care, please call 0800 774 787.
