The Childcare Act stipulates that early years providers must ensure that their provision meets the learning and development requirements as specified in the EYFS. The Act states that this Order can specify the arrangements which are required for assessing children for the purpose of ascertaining what each child has achieved in relation to the early learning goals (ELG). This process involves practitioners observing children to understand their level of achievement, interests, and learning styles, and to then shape learning experiences for each child reflecting those observations.
This course will ensure that all staff are not only aware of these obligations but are fully skilled in how best to conduct observations and use them to inform their practice and individualise learning for early years children.
