If someone suffers a sudden illness or injury, first aid is the help and assistance you can give to keep them stable and prevent things from getting worse until an ambulance arrives. Hopefully you will never find yourself in a situation where you have to use first aid, but it is better to know it and never need it, than to need it and not know it.
