Most people would agree that slavery no longer exists in the UK. However, this is incorrect. Child trafficking is modern slavery. It is the recruitment, transportation, transfer and harbouring of children for exploitation, and it is a very real problem in today’s society.

This course will look at why children fall prey to trafficking and the impact it has on them. It will also look at the facts and statistics of child trafficking in the modern world, along with how to look out for warning signs of this situation occurring and who to contact if those worries arise.

The learning objectives for this course are as follows:

  1. To understand what is meant by the term ‘child trafficking’
  2. To understand more about human trafficking in general
  3. To learn about the impact being trafficked can have on a child
  4. To learn to recognise the warning signs that a child may be being trafficked
  5. To learn about who to contact if you have these worries

This course will ensure your practice is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, The Early Years Framework and The Foundation Phase. It will also support your continuous professional development in line with the Early Years Teachers Standards.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before accessing the course, please call 0800 774 7874.
